About
The Academic Committee fulfils its purpose as a representative body by coordinating the students and the faculty members of the institute. It acts as a mode of communication between the students and their teachers. The committee aims to address to all the student interests and queries raised to their respective authorities. The smooth functioning of the institute is maintained by the committee as it focuses on resolving all student concerns that are being raised. The quality of institute facilities and the academic standards are an important agenda to the committee. It makes sure that the finest academic practices are adapted by the faculty members and students. The committee honors the students at every step of their academic achievements.
The committee develops rules and regulations based on the academic requirements. These regulations are invoked by the committee during every committee meetings which are usually held after every academic semester or whenever required.
Functions
The Academic committee with principal and other teaching fraternity has certain powers and additional activities to be implemented, they are as listed below:
- To monitor the daily academic activities of the college.
- To prepare the time-table and monitor academic activity.
- To make necessary and alternative arrangements for academics in case of emergency.
- To plan and carry out the project activities for the students
- To govern the student counseling center etc.
- To plan and execute Parent-Teacher meetings.
- To meet and plan for punctuality in semester academic activities by class teachers.
- To exercise general supervision over the academic work and to give direction regarding methods of instructions, evaluation or research or improvements in academic standards.
- To promote research within the institute, acquire reports on such research from time to time.
- To consider matters of academic interest either on its own initiative or at the instance of the Board of Management and to take proper action there on.
- To maintain proper standards of the examinations.
- To suggest measures for departmental coordination.
- To make recommendations to the Board of Management on
- Institution of Scholarships, Medals, Prizes etc.
- Bye-laws covering the academic functioning of the Academy, discipline, residence,
- Admissions, examinations, award of fellowships and studentships, concessions, attendance etc.
- To appoint sub committees to advise on such specific matters as may be referred to it by the Board of Management.
- To consider the recommendations of the subcommittees and to take such action (including making of recommendations to the Board of Management) as the circumstances in each case may require
- To take periodical review of the activities of the Departments/Centers and to take appropriate action (including making of recommendations to the Board of Management) with a view to maintaining and improving the standards of instruction.
- To design plans for training and developmental programs to overcome any academic limitations either by faculty or by students and review the execution of the designed plans
Curriculum planning
Aditya College of Pharmacy, Surampalem is affiliated to JNTU Kakinada and follows the syllabus prescribed by the affiliating University for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programs. As per the Academic Calendar of the affiliating University, the Institute executes curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. For the better implementation of syllabus prescribed by the University, the Institution prepares the Curriculum plan to meet the Vision, Mission of the College. Regular meetings are held with the various stakeholders.
At the commencement of academic year, IQAC arranges a conference with the Head of the Departments to submit:
- Course Allotment
- Event Calendar for every department
- List of Certificate Courses.
IQAC is accountable for supervising the growth of the department activities and for issuing format for the preparation of course file. The Head of the Department supervises the student performance, class work, tutorial sessions, and timely syllabus completion status fortnightly. Every faculty formulates well planned sessions with sophisticated teaching techniques.
