About
The Committee was constituted to look into the problems and issues of Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students as they were identified as pool below the poverty line, and deprived of educational and socioeconomical facilities. The committee functions to develop, support and bring the students from such communities in the main streams.
The purpose of committee is to empower the SC/ST students in the college. The college pays special attention in facilitating financial support and conducts special awareness programs to reach them right destiny in the discipline course. They are encouraged to enroll for skill development program under the governmental and non –governmental agency.
Functions
The committee meets at least once a year and submits annual report to the head of the Institution on SC, ST students admitted under reservation norms, complaints and issues reported by the students, relationship environment, facilities for girl students, financial assistances received from the government etc.
Provides equal education as per the constitutional law.
Ensures reservation norms in the admission process of the students.
Maintain social relationship among the admitted students in the college and resolve issues,grievances, and representations etc., of the students.
Explores redressed mechanisms and provisions for remedial coaching, counselling etc.,
Provides Coordination of equal opportunity, and financial support from the government either state /central and UGC.
Avoid discrimination among the students.
Communicate with the students and motivate them for their better future planning
circulate State Govt and UGC’s decisions about different scholarship programs
Roles and Responsibilities
The committee will monitor the Constitutional and Legislative measures taken according to the t directions of the Chairman. Strictly abide by the Government of India incorporated special provisions in its constitution for the removal of untouchability and to promote the education of them.
Looks them after with special care and implement the equal education for SC, ST under Article 46. Continuously, the committee acts with close monitoring of the issues to remove humiliation and multifaceted harassments of the students. The committee will identify such type of activities, brings immediately to the chairman’s notice, and take the necessary steps for action against issues and activities.
SOPs
Aim:
To develop Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students and protect their rights as per the constitutional and legislative measures.
Responsibility:
Head of the institution and constituted committee members.
Procedure:
1. The Anti- Discrimination Committee was constituted by the committee members and head of the institution.
2. The committee shall discuss on agenda in the presence of the Chairman.
3. The committee shall meet at least once in three months and submit the annual report to the Chairman.
4. The committee shall take the responsibility to implement and execute their agenda.
5. The committee shall give instructions/counsel those who are admitted under reserved category of SC/ST students with the welfare schemes of the State government or Central government.
6. The committee shall identify issues regarding caste discrimination, racism, intimidation, food tradition, violation of laws ,using unparliamentary/abusive words, humiliation, untouchability.
7. The committee shall treat the case as either minor or major.
8. The facts regarding the issue shall be identified by the through the Fact Finding Committee.
9. The Fact-Finding Committee shall report the case with the necessary essential documented evidence.
10. The fact-finding committee should submit their evidence to the constituted members of the committee.
11. The committee shall discuss the problem based on the submitted evidence.
12. The committee’s decision shall be sent to the Chairman.
13. The final decision of the Chairman shall be imposed on specified case background.
14. If any case was found to be severe legal opinion on the particular case will be taken into consideration.

The All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, has taken a serious view of ragging incidents in educational institutions and has issued Notification No. 37-3/Legal/AICTE/2009 dated 25-03-2009 in response to the Honorable Supreme Court of India's Order dated 16.5.2007, which has ordered strict implementation of the following rules and regulations for the prevention and prohibition of ragging in technical institutions.
